History

DRILLMASTERS, founded in 1977, started as a tool re-work service for Fokker Aviation in the Netherlands. The success of the Drillmasters-formula spread quickly to other European Engineering Aviation Industries.  Everybody, from shipbuilders to automotive industries and prototype, to high-volume industries, use the possibility of the unique experience, quality and continuity built up by DRILLMASTERS since being founded.

Machines and engineers

Our Production Team, consisting of 20 people, all specialized and were internally educated by DRILLMASTERS. Our Engineers have tool-rework experience ranging from between 4 and 20 years.

Our Machine shop consists of fully automatic drill production, modified to re-sharpen high volumes of drills. Other special machines are built for their own purpose, for example,  machines for high volume web-thinning.

Procedure

The combination - specialised engineers and specialised machines make it possible to work rationally.  The main task of our engineers is to control the machines and the re-worked tools. The regrinding is done fully automatically and every client has his own tool-rework instructions, all with very close tolerances.  DRILLMASTERS’ tolerances are half tool producing tolerances.

Result

The fully automatic regrinding results are not only of consistently high quality but also have lower tool re-work costs. DRILLMASTERS, together with our Clients, consider the optimisation of the drillpoint as being very important to the design and the best point geometry for the Clients’ use.

The philosophy “by drilling everything turns around a good drillpoint” works with all our Clients resulting in improved  higher drilling-times and improving the drill performance.
